About the Owner

I have been born and raised in Beaver County, PA my entire life. I decided to start my own sharpening service in 2023. I grew up and started collecting knives at a young age.I remember in the evenings when my dad would be sharpening his little pocket knife on a stone in his recliner after work. I was amazed at how sharp he could get his knife running it across a stone. I remember I would get frustrated because I could never get mine as sharp as he could. I would then hand him my knife to sharpen since I would pretty much just make mine more dull.

My passion for knives started to really grow when a babysitter of mine got me a knife that had my name engraved on it for my birthday. I always remember my dad carrying a knife on him at all times and how often it would come in handy. He carried something similar to a buck 55.

One day him and I went to a sporting goods store in Ambridge called Sol’s sporting goods. They had a camo zippo lockback knife that I seen and I loved. I talked my dad into buying it for me and after about a week I bent the blade trying to pry up a baseball home plate at a buddies house( not supposed to ever use a pocket knife as a pry bar). I was devastated. Somehow my dad talked the guy at Sol’s into sending the knife into zippo to be repaired even though it technically wasn’t covered under the lifetime warranty because it was from misuse. Zippo (case) knives fixed it and sent it back to Sol’s for my Dad to pick it up. It came back better than new. I then carried that knife just about everywhere for the next few years.

One day it fell out of my pocket at a carnival never to be found again. I have since found that same knife on eBay and acquired it again. I got somewhat lucky because that knife stopped being made in about 2002. It was the mid 90’s when my dad bought me it.

In my teens I joined boy scouts because of my love for the outdoors. I have went on 65 mile canoe trips, etc. and all us Boy Scouts always carried a knife or a few on us.  I always struggled using stones for sharpening to the level of sharpness I wanted to obtain. Fast forward to my late 20’s and I became a lot better sharpening knives by hand. It is an acquired skill. I have always collected knives since the age that my parents allowed.

After graduating from Ambridge Area High School in 2006 I went to Community College Beaver County for nursing school. Graduated in 2009. I became a Nurse and worked in a nursing home. I grew up catholic always going to church, CCD, etc. but did not have a close relationship with God. I slowly fell into a deep idolatry to chemicals. I remember many nights trying to fall asleep and praying to God asking Him why I just couldn’t be good. My addiction became so bad it dictated all aspects of my days, weeks, and turned into years.

I began stealing off of family, lying to friends, etc. to fuel my progressive habit. Lost nursing jobs. Satan was happy because he was winning me over with my idols being chemicals, he was slowly but surely killing, stealing, and destroying my body, mind, and soul.  My Mother was so heartbroken! One day she heard a commercial on a radio station about Pennsylvania Adult & Teen challenge. ( I tried other rehabs, only to quickly fall into relapse after relapse).

One day I went into my Mom’s house and stole from her. She then had enough and called the police. At the time March 3,2012 the police came to my girlfriend’s and took me in. God used the police that day along with giving my mom courage through the Holy Spirit to be the angel that saved my life. At the time I was so mad. I thought how could my own mother betray me? Well that move on her part absolutely saved my life! God knew his plan!

So I was facing many hardships and consequences. I had burned so many bridges and couldn't be trusted. Then, I read a book called “Lessons from San Quentin.” God had me born again through that book. My options at that point were face the consequences or go to PA Teen Challenge and successfully complete the 14 month residential program. I went to the program and graduated from it May, 2013.

My now wife stuck with me thru the program and we got married Jan 11, 2014. We now have 3 beautiful children.

I decided about 5 years ago to get better at knife sharpening. I then decided in 2023 to start my own business sharpening knives and scissors. I had to buy some expensive equipment to be able to do it at a professional level so I did. I wanted to do everything legit so I LLC shortly after deciding I was for sure gonna go for it and do it the right way.

I also enjoy hunting, hockey, watching my kids in their sports, spreading the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ, time with my wife Tina, auto detailing, and also work Full Time as a nurse.

I try to sharpen everyone’s knives or scissors, etc. as if it were for Jesus. I am not perfect because only Jesus was. I found I get a lot further in life with humility than pride! It is a constant growth of sanctification that we are to strive for.

Thanks for reading and I hope this story helps someone realize how much God Loves them. If He can save me He can save anyone thru His sacrifice on the Cross by His Love, Mercy, and Grace!

By His Grace,
